Under tension a tree trunk splits easily and can prove extremely dangerous as soon as a chainsaw starts its cut. Using a stem press stops that splitting, which enhances both safety and productivity. Using the press is straightforward; the strong non-stretch strap goes around the tree and the end is threaded through the buckle on the ratcheted spindle, which is then tightened. The mechanism allows for a slow release after cutting, adding further to working sfaety. The design won the 2008 German Forestry Association (KWF) Prize for Innovation. Strap length: 350 cm. Weight: 3700 g.
