A wedge for big timber, safe use and great lift
The Nordforest Titan 80 Mechanical Falling Wedge can be used as an alternative to heavy wedges when harvesting big timber. The advantages of using Nordforest's Titan 80 in comparison to classical wedges include:
- it's vibration-free so reduces the danger of falling branches significantly
- ergonomically it's much easier with a great lifting force
- it increases safety when felling on slopes, as its operation is safer (standing on the slope) instead of hammering a wedge in against the slope.
Technical data:
- Length 480 mm
- Width 120 mm
- Height 165 mm
- Lifting height 80 mm
- Chock width 90 mm
- Stroke length 224 mm
- Wedge extension 170 mm
- Threaded pitch 5 mm
- Max. Lifting force 25 t
- Weight 5.6 kg
The maximum lifting force is reached when the ratchet is about 70 kg. The maximum torque generated is then about 300 Nm.
Finish:
- Spring steel plates with pressed-out lugs 1.5 mm
- Encapsulated thread drive with taper roller bearing and fixed plug
- Three lubrication nipples supply the wedge surfaces, the screw drive, as well as the roller bearings
- Material: special steel wedge, main body made of aluminum
- Threaded drive made of high-strength special steel
- Carrying handle made of plastic
