With Eder's Bark Beetle Milling Device, bark of lying tree trunks is slit through in longitudinal direction. This interrupts the feeding process and accelerates drying of the bark. The four 4.5 mm thick slitting blades are mounted at a distance of 24 mm from each other and enable rapid work.
The unit can be mounted on chain saws from 1.5 kW (2 HP). Suitable attachments are supplied. The milling tool carrier replaces the guide bar which is removed from the assembly together with the chain pinion. The chain pinion is replaced by a coupling drum with a V-belt. The V-belt is tensioned by the chainsaw's tensioner. Hardly any physical load is required which gives high performance. Easy to use even on slopes.
